Google Docs – create and share documents online (Montana State Library)
With libraries providing more computing access to patrons, it is important to know how to use and be able to share the free tools that are available on the Internet. Google offers Google Docs, which is their on-line form of documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms, drawings, and tables. Sign-up for a Google account and these are a free to users, along with the many other products Google offers. Google Docs allows you to store many different types of files and only those not created in Google Docs count against your storage space. Any time you have access to the Internet you have access to Google Docs. The user has the option to keep the documents private to his account or to share them. Each document and each folder can be shared with specific people or it can be made public for anyone to view. This makes it easy for people to collaborate on a project as well as share information. Presented by BTOP trainer Jennifer Birnel.

Montana Shared Catalog – Cataloging: Transferring Items (Montana State Library)
Sometimes items end up on the wrong bib records...horrors! This is caused by different things including a library’s initial migration. While the items can be deleted and then recreated on the correct record, but that process is quite time consuming and also causes the loss of valuable data about the item (date created etc). Fortunately, Workflows has a function that moves an item from one bib record to another in a process that is much faster than deleting and recreating and it preserves your item data. Join Amy for a step-by-step walk through using the Transfer Wizard and a discussion of when you should transfer items. Presented by Amy Marchwick, MSC Trainer.
